Juana was super happy for her husband Kino when he found The World’s exclusive Pearl then after a day or 3 she wanted Kino to destroy/scramble  it and get rid of it as soon as possible, because she thinks that it’s full of evil after the chain of events that occurred after its find, and by evil I mean that she thinks that it could ruin her family. Juana thinks that it’s evil because Kino has been attacked by a person and it left Kino with a bloody wound. When Kino had the pearl he went to the pearl buyer and asking for a valuable price for the pearl but the buyer shut him down with the prices. Juana is also afraid because when she wanted to take her pearl Coyotito to the doctor with Kino, the doctor refused them because they didn't have any money but when Kino found the most valuable pearl which is The  doctor and the doctor’s servant went to Kino’s and Juana’s house the day the found it and the doctor offered if he could cure their son Coyotito. That’s some if the reasons why Juana is afraid and thinks that the pearl is "pure evil ” because it can destroy their lives and causes unwanted emotions in their lives and their community.
